Drivers for CD-R/RW/DVD missing!!!!

Hi,

I've just gone to put a CD/R in the drive and they havent appeared in My Computer. Apparently in Device Manager they can't find driver's or they are corrupted (code 39) but I have been using these drives for ages. My DVD drive is 'MATSHITA DVD-ROM SR -8584A.' The supplyer is Microsoft. My CD-R/RW is 'TEAC CD-W58E.' The supllyer is unknown (Standard).

If you have any help it would be very much appreciated,

Can you test this drive in another computer or try another drive in your computer? I suspect something's wrong with the drive rather than drivers. It's fairly rare the included CD drivers ever need to be replaced.

Also, running the windows repair option from the setup might fix the problem.

Are you sayin you put a cd/r disk in your drive or you installed a dc/r drive in your computer, if you installed a drive did you set the jumpers right!-Master-Slave
