Drowning in Computer Companies!!

Ok, my Toshiba laptop has had several years of use and is now shot. It would cost almost the price of a desktop so I am planning on getting one this week... the only problems is that I am overwhelmed by the different brands. I now have an understanding of what specs I want with a harddrive, processor, etc but don't know who to trust!!

What brands do you guys recommend? I was thinking about Acer computers. Anyone have experience with them, either good or bad. Or advice on any brand would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to know about customer service and quality of parts and if the computers last a long time.

I am currently replying on an Acer laptop....specs in sig...i love it haven't had any problems so far....

also wut kind of specs are you looking for?

Well, I am looking for something with quite a bit of space as we store many digital pictures and videos. I would like a decent graphics card and processor to run a few games. Those would be my main uses. My budget is up to $700 so not too much. Good to hear that your Acer has been good.

Sort of off the subject but chupacabra, are you from Brasil? Just wondering cause I speak portuguese and your name is quite portuguese...
 
Id say that computer is a very good deal considering what you get and for the price - get that plus a video card and it will be great for what you need

(7600GT or above id recommend)
