dual 5970?

Hey all,

I currently have one asus 5970(see below) i was thinking about xfire another 5970, but newegg currently has a different company's 5970

is it ok to xfire those two? a "Diamond" company and Asus Company.

As long as 2 cards are the same chipset, they will CF just fine.

So, yes, 2 companies will CF just fine.

Same card, so the system recognizes them in the os as compatible for xfire. They should show up as quad xfire however. Make sure you have a large enough power supply wattage, I would guess around 800-900watts. One of the main differences you will notice is the software the card uses for settings, but they are mostly the same.
