Dual boot computer (problems)

Hi I have got Vista and XP both installed on my computer now. They are both on the same HDD separated by a partition.

The first issue is I cannot boot from Vista any more lol, but I think thats cos I need a OS boot manager.

The main problem is I have loads of applications stored on the Vista side. Do I need EVERYTHING installed twice to run it or can I rejig the registry or something so I can run the applications from either OS?

err, make another partition and install the programs on that
Ok let me explain whats going on here.

Hard Drive 1
-Partition 1 Vista
-Partition 2 XP Pro

Hard Drive 2
-Data and soon all applications

I am installing the software on Hard drive 2 but I don't think I will be able to use the applications from Vista if they have been installed via XP and vis versa as they are not in the registry for that operating system.

Either I can do something to the registry or have to have everything installed twice.
