Dual boot problems .

I installed windows 7 on a PC which had XP on C: .
Windows 7 on D:
now when i am trying to delete XP it says that i cannot format it ; or ; when i try to delete it, it says that it cannot delete some files as i do not have permission.
after i transferred ownership of all the files to me i tried again to the same result.
somebody help.
 
You won't be able to format C drive as your boot files are on that drive now since you dual booted. Remove C drive, insert your windows 7 install cd and choose to repair your OS. Reinsert C drive and make sure bios is set to boot to windows 7 drive, then you should be able to format the old c drive.
