Dual Boot

You kick with one foot, then the other. It's hard to kick with both lest you fall flat on your ass. :P

Partition out the HDD, creating two primary partitions, put XP on and install Vista from inside Windows XP on the other.

I would type LOL if that was funny, but hey...

Thats pretty much it, dont let other people scare you, dual boot only gets interesting when you get into quadruple booting with linux and windows 95.... yah, i wouldnt try that one jsut yet...

Install XP, and use the install process to create 2 partitions.

Install Vista.

When a black screen comes up (after complete and correct installations of both OSes) select "Previous operating system" to boot from XP or "Microsoft Windows" to boot from Vista.

I did that a while ago, but now i want to get rid of Vista... but how do i get rid of the boot menu where i still have to select "previous operating system"? i tried formatting the Vista partition, but the boot menu still came up... Its been re-installed since, but i want to get rid of it again...

I had a look at the startup options in system properties, but the boot.ini file told me i need to check out "BCDEDIT.exe" to alter the Vista boot options... I've found that file in the Vista system folders, but how do i edit it?

if it helps, its vista 64, dual booting with XP pro (not 64)...
