Dual Booting XP and OS X

Hey all, I have OS X, and I'm trying to dual boot it with XP. There's only one problem.....I don't have a DVD +/-, and my DVD-ROM isn't plugged in. I really don't want to be stuck with just windows anymore :(....any help would be greatly appreciated. I have Acronis Disk Director Suit V10.0 to create Partitions.

I'm dying to get off windows....

:P

You cant install Mac OS X on your Dell, sorry.

Ok... yes it can be done, but it takes alot of "tweaking" the os.

Well, I'm ready to "tweak."
Trust me, its extremely hard to do. Most likely you couldnt get it to run on that system anyways, since its not designed for an Intel/AMD CPU.

You can do it, but only on the new Intel Macs. It was done here

Yes, it's not hard to do, if you have a DVD-RW. I don't. Forget my computer specs, I just want to know if anyone knows how to dual boot Max OS X and XP without a DVD.

to dual boot osx and xp there are usually some modified versions hanging around on torrent sites, albeit illegla, i would say it isn;t worht the hassle, and if you want to get rid of windows then why not give Linux a try??

I'm not going to get rid of Windows, I just want to Dual-Boot XP and OS X. I already have OS X 10.4.5 that will run on a PC, but as I said, I can't get it working because I don't have a DVD-RW.

And Jet: yes, OS X can be dual-booted with Windows.

oh, could you get a friend to burn it for you then?
i tihnk you will only be able to install it if you can brun it to a DVD, seems like you may have to buy a dvd-rw if you can't get a friend to do it for you

Now how to dual boot?

I have a 10.4.5 that will run on PC as well but don't know how to dual boot because I end up destroying one of my operating systems when I install one or the other.(good partitioning program?) When I try to partition the computer can't without destroying one or the other.

Take the guts from your Mac. Take the guts from your Dell. Buy a huge casing, install them both inside, and put a switch on the monitor outputs and mouse/keyboard inputs. Dual-booting Mac OS/X and Windows XP! LOL
