Hi, i have been looking into putting up a server using windows server but I only have one computer. I use the computer for a lot of stuf and couldn't have it as just a server. Is there a possible way that I could dual boot Windows XP home and Windows server so that I could use the server when ever but still be able to switch back to windows XP?

A server is a dedicated system with an OS that needs to running full time. Once you left WIN2003 or another server OS that would shut the server down. You can't run two OSs at the exact same time on the same system. sorry.

For 24/7 application of a server you would have to run XP on the virtual machine if possible. Unlike Linux Windows is not really a live type OS you can load in a virtual drive or run from a cd. If you are on a tight budget go for a low cost tower case, one or two drives with a medium supply and budget server board as well as a lower model cpu and enough value memory. For temporary use as a server you could split the drive into two partitions for dual OSing and run the server for a specified period of time.
