dual ch memory question

if this is the wrong forum, I apologize.. no ice cream for me!

is the utilization of dual channel memory contingent upon use of only certain CPUs?
or is solely based upon support by the mainboard?

I just put together a P4 2.8GHZ Northwood on a ASUS P4S800D SiS 655FX Am I good to go dual ch?

its basedo n the mobo and yours is good for dual channel

just put the two sticks of ram into the same coloured slots and your away

It is based off of the motherboard chipset.

jimmymac, not all motherboards have it set up with the same color equals dual channel.

use slot 1 and 3, or slot 2 and 4 for your memory to run in dual channel.
