Dual Chanel

If when you start up the bios screen that flahses says Dual Chaneel, sintead of the normal Single shanel, that would for sure 100% more that its running in dual chanell correct?

If the BIOS says your running in dual-channel mode, then I dont see why you wouldnt be. Now if CPU-z said otherwise, there may be a problem.

Just making sure because I got one completly diffrerent brand then what i ordered before(Same exact auction from same guy, he put unknown brand) Last one was samsung, and new one is unknown and looks a little odd, but it has same exact specs.

Before i had 1GB DDR333 and 512DDR400 and I had told it in the bios to run at DDR400 which it was doing(running at 200.09mhz)and now i replaced the 512MB stick with the new GB stick and I am running in dual chanell.

Heres the problem now, I'm seeing a performace decrease, I can no longer play farcry on max settings without lagging, my fps drops in the 20s

It just doesn't make snence how 1.5GB single chanmle DDR333 or DDR400 to 2GB dual chanell DDR400 could make a decrease in performace...Any ideas anyone?

[CpuZ Does say its running "dual" and says there is 2048 sticks]

on another note, do you think turning it to DDR333 would help? Becuase when i turn it to DDR400 the C LAT goes to 3.0 instead of 2.5, but i was always under the impression that mhz made more of a difference then c lat.

I'd trust the BIOS more than CPU-Z but since they say the same thing this is a moot point.
DDR400 @ CL=3 shouldn't be any worse than DDR333 @ CL2.5. Run memtest and see if anything comes up.

After about 10 mintes on play on BF2 the game would quit, so i put the RRAM back on DDR333 and it works fine now. It stills seems like a performace decrease though.

I actully tried MEM test before you posted that but when i download it it says your verion of windows wont let it use all the ram or something, and to run two isnatnces of MEM test and set them both to test 888mb of the ram, how would i go about doing this? help please? Thanks.

well, for one...different kinds of ram arent always going to work well together, despite having similar specs...this may be what is causing them to be unstable. are you having any problems with booting up where the system is saying amount of system memory has changed? i had to take ram out ofa computer because it kept crashing or having troubles booting up...the decrease did make a dent in performance, but at least the computer was stable and more reliable.

on another note.....are you going to spell "channel" right any time soon...?

Are you going to capitilize a sentance any time soon?

The system is complely stable and working, the only problem is I'm seeing a decrease in performace during some games instead of a increase like I hoped.
