Hi all, I'm faily new to computers (building wise) and am thinking about building one around christmas time. I plan on getting a 3800+ X2 and also getting anywhere from one to 1 to 2 gigs (Dual channel). I don't really understand dual channel memory and how it works with dual core, but if I were to get 1 gigabite of (two) 512 sticks, wouldnt it be only 512mb to a "core"? Someone please help me out, I tried reading the 101's and still didnt get it. Any help will be appreciated greatly. Thank you.

Dual channel memory has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the processor's dual cores. Dual channel just doubles the memory bandwidth, which gives you about 2X the speed. It doesent split itself between the dual processors.
