Dual channel with 2x512 and 2x1GB??

I was wondering if I can dual channel my 512mb's with another pair of 1GB's? So I guess it would be quad channel at that point or...?
 
No you cant, you can either have 2x512MB, 4x512MB or 2x1GB, 4x1GB. If you mix 2x512MB and 2x1GB, it will be single channel.

BUNK! That will depend primarily on the board design whether or not having all dimm slots filled forces single channel mode! With a mix of 512s and 1gbs you would end up with 1.5gb on each channel; one primary and the other being the secondary. There is no "quad" channel on a dual channel board.:rolleyes:
