On what CPU will I play a game like Hitman 4 better? (which requires Pentium 4 - 2.4GHz)

Intel Dual Core 1.8GHz
Or
Intel Pentium 4 - 2.66Ghz
?
 
Since Intel's lowest desktop dualcore chip ships at 2.66GHz, you must be referring to the mobile chips for which the answer is immediately the Core Duo

As Preator said, the lowet Pentium D is 2.66Ghz. But if you are referring to the Core Duo (which i doubt, since its around $400-$500 for a 1.83Ghz chip), then go with the Core Duo.
 
I'm refering to the Dual Core 1.8GHz thats in the new iMac

What would the equivelant of the Dual Core 1.8GHz be in a Pentium?

he means that if he were to compare the two processors at the same processing rate, what would the frequency of each be? if that just made it more confusing, think that is like comparing an AMD to an Intel.
 
I dont understand your question either, but a 1.8Ghz Core Duo will outperform the Pentium D 2.66Ghz easily.
 
get core duo. it will outperform the P4 2.66ghz in any operation.
iMacs are a bit expensive.. but w/e im not gonna say anything... haha

core duo "core" != Pentium 4 "core"
thats like comparing an athlon 64 X2 to Pentium d... it just doesn't work that way lol.
ultimately, the core duo will perform a lot better in hitman...
but don't iMacs only have X1600 graphics?
ask omega about that card, i guess they're good budget cards but if you can get something better with the P4 then do so. lol

friend of mine just got a 1.66ghz core duo, 1gb ram, 80gb hdd, dvd-rw yesterday, and it is flat out sweet. runs like a dream.
