Dual Core Problem

I have a Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 processor and after an hour or two or after i play a game the CPU usage is around 50 percent. 100 % on one core and about 3-5 % on the other. Do you have any explanations or is this a faulty processor. I also have a Gigabyte 945GM-S2 motherboard with 512 mb of ram.

Depend's which things you have running in the background, go into Task Manager & the Processes Tab, tell us what process is using 50% of the cpu.

nothing out of the ordinary everything that was before the game is still there nothing extra. and wen i just turn it on the processes is 3-5 % with all the same processes that are after the game so im thinking its defective.

Correct. The game you are playing is coded to only support one core.
