Dual GPU question

I have a question if I can run both video cards together. One is a XFX GTS 250 and the other is EVGA 9800 GTX both have 512 Ram.

But I heard that they are exactly the same cards right?

Well, after googling this, all the answers point to you have to flash the 9800 GTX to the 250's BIOS, otherwise the SLI will recognize them as two different cards from different generations.

Just wondering how would one flash the bios? Im not too software savy and what else do I need to do to get this running together?

As far as I know, you can only SLI a 9800GTX+ (not a 9800GTX) and a 250 and the memory has to match.
