Dual LCD Setup Help w/ HDMI

I came across an i7 tower and I want to use it to stream 2 and eventually 3 games during football season.

Right now, I'm going to run a 60" and 55" LED setup, one on top of the other on the wall. I truly want to run dual HDMI, but I'm open to running one HDMI and one DVI-I + DVI-I to HDMI adapter. I bought a standard/cheap PNY GEFORCE GT610 as it had an HDMI port and I figured an HDMI splitter would work. After doing some research I found that you can buy a powered splitter, but carry one signal to dual/quad monitors.

I went ahead and ordered one of those powered splitters as I'm off work this week for some remodeling around the house and need it to get here, but being wall mounted, I would like to limited as many cords / accessories / power plugs as possible.

Example of what I'm trying to do: I simply want to stream 2 games at once (ESPN and ESPN2) on two separate LED's and do it as cheap as possible as it's in my basement and will only be used for sports streaming.

I will take this card back and get a dual HDMI out if there is such a thing, but would entertain any other ideas of getting two separate pictures out of a single out HDMI card. I really want to do two HDMI over one of each (HDMI DVI+Adapter to HDMI).

Best way? Thank you so much!

So let me get it right, you want to play/stream video on two different screens at the same time, espn on one and espn2 on the other and I'm assume you want each screen to have its own audio too?

100% correct, yes. Sound on both is not needed as I'll just mute one stream at at time.

Basically I want to extend the screen like a normal dual monitor and I would like to use HDMI as both tv's have HDMI. The 55" is a Samsung "monitor" so it has a DVI port and HDMI. The 60" is HDMI only. Thanks

Right ok, I thought maybe you want to send audio over two devices simultaneously, windows as far as I know will only let you output audio to one device at a time, but many program will let you select and use other devices which are not the windows default device. If you are going to mute one, then this really doesn't matter anymore.

A splitter is only going to duplicate a signal and send it to multiple screens, each screen will be identical, so you wouldn't be able to put espn on one and espn2 on the other. You will need to use two different outputs connecting one to each tv to display different signals. There's no need to buy a new card, just use the DVI to HDMI adapter and run two HDMI cables, one to each tv.

Edit: DVI displays same quality as HDMI, even through a DVI to HDMI adapter, the only difference is that the DVI will not carry audio to the TV.

Yeah, I went ahead and used the DVI and HDMI outputs. I'll just have to drag and drop games when I want to hear one or the other. Was trying to avoid that. Is there a video card with dual HDMI outs? Another card may be in the works of not. Which is another research session in its own, lol.

I told myself I took this week off to handle everything, but I just don't have the time with the upgrades to the home. The video works on both, but I didn't test them further as I was pulled away. About to crack open a cold beer and dive into Google.

Thanks for the help!

I thought the tv's were one on top of the other on the wall, they would be so close it wouldn't matter if one of the tv's is always making the audio for both of the, just send the audio to the tv with the best speakers and mute whichever espn you do not want to hear.
Yes there are cards with multiple HDMI outputs, but I don't know whether or not cards can send the audio through multiple hdmi's at the same time. Displayports can also output audio like hdmi ports, so you could use a displayport to hdmi adapter and still get audio through the hmdi cable and onto the tv, but again I have never tried sending audio simultaneously over multiple outputs on a single card before, so I can't say for sure whether it can or can't be done. Unfortunately at the moment I'm not in a position to run tests on my own setup to see if its possible or not, but maybe someone else on the forum knows the answer.
