alright here is my mobo http://www.asrockamerica.com/Products/775dual880p.htm

on the box and user manual of my motherboard it states that i can use both pci-e and agp slots at the same time alowing me to have a multimonitor enviroment...

1 now if someone could explain how this works to me as in... would it be one big image between the two monitors... two different screens or how does this work

2 could i be playing a game on one monitor and doing my multitasking in the other and etc?

3 would my mobo and vid card software alow me to do the things above ...or would i need a program to do so

Yes it is basically one big image, but there is no taskbar or desktop items (typically) on the second screen, but you can put your mouse over there and drag windows over to it as well. As far as multitasking, I don't know, I only use a dual monitor for work related stuff, no games, but my guess would be not likely, but I believe you can make the game play on both monitors. The best way to set one up would be to plug both monitors into one video card, that's how most people do it, I wouldn't try running one from each as it will probably lead to headaches, your video card should have two monitor outputs for this purpose.

Most games support 1 monitor, since it takes alot of power from the computer to render 2 images at the same time. So basically the graphics card would have to render atleast 48 (2x24) pictures in a second for a nice smooth gameplay. Might be wrong but this is what I thought of in about 5 minutes.
