dual monitor help

I just got a 24' monitor today, and I want to run it along with my 19' monitor. I'm not sure how to make the 24' monitor work. I turn it on and I receive the "No Signal" screen. The DVI cable is pushed all the way in the monitor and video card.

I go to the NVIDIA control panel, and I find the link that says "Set Up Multiple Displays". I select the large horizontal desktop option. The control panel does detect both my 19' and 24' monitors. So then I select apply and nothing happens with the 24'. Of course half the screen is missing on my 19' since it's suppose to go along with the 24', but I get no display on the 24'. So how can I get this to work?

Check your bios to see if ther is a setting for dual monitor support.

There is no setting in the BIOS for dual monitor setup.

The BIOS has nothing to do with dual monitor setups, you need to go into the nVidia (or ATI) control panel to change the settings.

I've done that, but nothing displays on the second monitor when I change the settings.

Well if that's the case, where would I go to do that? I went to Display Properties, and then Settings and I have it set up as my second display.

The other issue your running into is probably because you have the resolution set to the native res of the 24", which the 19" cant display.
