dual monitor

need to figure out how to link up a second monitor to my laptop... I have it up, but can only use one at a time... how do I do more

if you already have the monitor connected look for the function and probably like f8 key it should say like crt or something on it press those 2 1 or 2 times until you see it cloned on both and then right click go to properties click on the 2nd monitor and tell it extend my desktop on to this monitor. there ya go let me know if you need anymore help.

either that, or you can just (on desktop) right click -> properties -> settings

and click on the display and "extend my desktop onto this monitor"

ok I have it hooked up and its sweet!!1 ok i have had it up for a day or so, and now it just started to flash like red and pink and such.... did I kill it, and I hope not cause I was using it for my new one for awhile lemme know what I need to do... by the way I unplugged it after it started it

Which monitor and which did you unplug? If its an CRT im gonna guess the color guns are going out. If its an LCD its dyin. If its the laptop monitor im guessing its fried. I'm pretty sure your either supposed to use an external monitor or the laptop monitor. Not both.

For both, overheating.
