Do the monitors need to be completely identical? Or can I just get another Viewsonic 20.1"?

They don't need to be identical, you could set up with a CRT.. if you were into that.

I think i am going to go out and buy a used crt to use with my xfx 8600gt xxx zalman to use for multitasking or something. Why not use the power you have, right?
