dual monitors

OK, I want to use two monitors, but I am seeing that it may not work. I currently have them both connected but the smaller one seems to have some kind of pseudo resolution. I have the 30" @ 2560x1600, and it says the smaller one is at 1920x1200, but it moves around like the 1920x1200 is on a 2560x1600 desktop.

Isn't there some way to run both and not have it so they span across them? So they are independent and I can have the windows maximized in both? I want to run the 30" in landscape and the 24" in portrait (and 1920x1200).

I see in the sticky above that they list a std mode.

Multiview Mode (Standard mode)

I do not have this option

Can I buy another card that I just bought and run them both? I called a place locally and the guy said I could try this but they must be the same card so I dn't have driver issuses (please confirm or discredit ;) )

i think life would be a lot easier with some software like ultra mon.
even gives an option to have a separate taskbar. icons on that screen will start on that screen to the size you specified. easily support dual wallpaper.
try hunting down the free ver. mine is a retail ver.

I saw this in the sticky but it didnt say it will do what I want. I read about the taskbar and dual wallpaper....that's cool!
thanks I'll look at it. :D

Have you tried maximizing your application in teh secondary monitor. I have a 22" High Def LCD and an old 15" as a second monitor. I'll have some overlap < overdrag > but when I maximize the window - it adjusts it's size to fill the second monitor and no overdrag.
