I was wondering how do dual monitors on one computer in one video card work. what would be the point and would the taskbar and all of windows take up both screens. is their a way to use it just for games?? thx for any help

It works cause you hook one up to the DVI-OUT and the other to the VGA-OUT , and the point of it is that you can have like a movie goin on one screen and be doin somthin else on the other

Dual monitors are one of the most useful things ever. You can do one of several things depending on drivers.
Extended Desktop. One main screen (has taskbar) and one extra screen (empty) Windows will maximise to only 1 screen but can be dragged across them all. (this is one of the best)
Horizontal Span. Both screens are treated as one extra large screen by windows. The taskbar spans both monitors. This sounds good until you realise that any messages/errors/turn of menu apear right in the middle so you can't read them across the screens. Also windows maximise across both screens so it sucks.
Vertical Span. Same as horizontal span but with one monitor on top of the other. I have no idea why someone would use this.
These can be done with seperate programs:
Extended desktop with taskbar on both screens. This would be useful but it requires a third party program and may slow down your computer a bit.
There are entire websites didicated to multi screen gaming but the basics to it are to run the game in windowed mode than to play with the settings.dat file to set the resolution to use both the displays. It is much easier than it sounds because it is just a small number change in notepad.

what third party program could u use and most games have an aimer or a person smack dab in the middle of the screen, how would that work out, would the person or aimer get cut in half??691175002 said:

alot of programs wont suport duel monitors tho, and you cant run WMP in ful screen on one and play a game on another bc it auto returns from full screen when u load the game, and you cant do it unless you have a video card with 2 video outputs, or 2 video cards pluged in.

if som1 had 3 monitors could they hook them up using one video card or would they need 2
