Dual Monitors

Hey, I am very new to computer hardware. I had a friend build me a pretty quick machine a few years back and obviously Im somewhat out of date. But he doesn't build machines that fail, and to this day everything is running beautifully with no problems.

I am huge into webdesign and web graphics and dual monitors would be a Godsend to me. But I have no idea on what to do, or where to start. My current gfx card is the ATI Radeon 9700 All-In-Wonder. And no it doesn't have dual ports as someone said I should.

So I was told to get another type of gfx card and just do that. But I don't even know where to start.

So, my question to anyone is, what is the cheapest card I can buy that just supplies me with another port for another monitor or two?

Thanks in advanced!

I wonder if this will work?

GeForce FX5200 Video Card, 8x AGP, 128MB DDR

It said that it will support Dual Monitor's. And its only $59.

First off, would you happen to know what type of gfx interface you have? You should have either AGP or PCI-E.

that might be good, even though its a downgrade just like the others.

that would be as low as i could go, its got two monitor ports, and an S-Video port for a TV if you like. no DVI ports like the other card though.
also, from what i hear the 9600 series is MAD overclockable... thats why the 9600xt has amazing clocks compared the regular 9600 cards.
its basically the fact that theyre the same card, but one they underclocked and thats why its so overclockable.

So the $29.99 would work sufficiently for my needs. I have a pretty good gfx card now, and I don't do much gaming anymore.

So would that be enough to allow me to run dual monitors?

So does anyone know the answers to my last two posts?

Any help would be much appreciated.

One more question. If I buy the $29.00 card as posted above, would I be able to keep my ATI All-in-wonder and still use its graphics and just use the other card for my dual monitor setup?

Thanks.

You cant use 2 AGP cards at once, whatever one has the monitors hooked up to it would be used. Going from a 9700 to a FX5500 would be a downgrade though.

Damn. Thats what I was afraid of. So I guess Im just SOL and gotta stick with my HydraVision setup. Cause ain't no way Im downgrading from a 9700 A-I-W to a FX5500.

I believe they have adapters that can convert one monitor output into two, but it would only be cloned, it wouldnt be an extended desktop.
