I just got PartitionMagic 8 for the purpose of installing dual operating systems on my laptop (20GB HD), for some reason I cant get this to work the way I want it. I can create a partition just fine and install the OS on it, but doing that automaticly hides the other partition and renders it inactive (and vice versa when booting to the original partition from the new one). So then I have to install PM on the new OS, unhide the other partition, set it active, and then reboot just to switch to the other OS on the first partition!! What I want is an option when I boot asking me which partition to boot from (Im running the same OS, XP Pro, on both partitions). One other thing, when I finally figured out how to switch partitions and booted to the original OS serveral of my program shortcuts had lost their icons but when I clicked on them to run the program they reappeared. I cant figure any of this out. ideas?? thanx alot
