Dual PCI Express

You can also do it with a single PCI-E (or AGP) card and it will costs less and give you better preformance.

im actually looking at having 1 x CRT and 2 x LCD, so thats why i would need the 2 x gfx cards to then i can run 3 monitors...

but i don't think you can run 3 x monitors from 1 x gfx card can you?

The Matrox Parhelia can handle three. It, like other workstation cards, are not designed for gaming however :)

i could be wrong, but i just bought the asus a8n sli deluxe, you know the one that supports dual pci-e, well i believe that it said that only nivida basid cards can go in it. Like the only three i saw were the 6800 ultra, 6800 gt, and 6600 gt. this is for dual vid card use though. i think you can use any kinda as a single card, but one thing is for sure, you need to have to 2 of the same exact cards going in to have and sli connection. hope that info in correct and i hope it helps.

The cross platform SLI thing was with the Alienware proprietory system ... the K8T890 also allows you to cross-platform but doesnt allow for SLI.
