dual processor with SLi?

sup everyone. Its getting closer to christmas and im looking to build me a new present. The question primarily about motherboards but i would also like to know good products in general for this new computer.

-First of all i would want Dual Processors (but not a must) because i do alot of graphic design type work, and this would make things so smooth. If not dual processors, is there any other recomendations on fast processors/mobo setups with SLI? I was searching NewEgg for dual processor support, and SLi compatability, and i didnt find it, but that may be because i overlooked it not being familiar w/ the chipset vocab, etc.
-Second of all from the info above...would it be possible to build this computer for under 2000, or 1500? I would like the SLi support, but will not be buying 2 graphics cards @ this time. I will most likely be buying GeForce GTX 7800 for 350 from a friend.
-My sound card would be one SB Audigy and one M-Audio Delta 1010LT = about 300$.
-Also would it be possible to build this computer for under 2000, or 1500 USD? i realize this estimate may be a bit optimistic
-Finally i would like 2G of RAM and 200G (7200RPM) of HDD space
no keyboard, mouse or speakers, monitor possibly.
Thanks everyone, im going to be continously researching in the forums, any advice is welcomed and appreciated, thanks.

Definetly possible to build for $2000 but maybe not the second GTX. I'll post something later I've got homwork to do now.

cool thanks. I wont be getting that 2nd GTX anytime soon anyways since im putting that money towards my sound card setup. anways, thanks again, the help is appreciated.

well i was trying to find a dule CPU mobo with SLi...but i cant seem to find it(i was lookin @ newegg under server mobos). If i cant do that, i would and will most likely go with dual core.

I doubt anyone would make a server mobo with SLi. Just go with dual-core since it is essentially the same thing unless you wanted dual dual-core CPUs (badass video editing rig).

dual, dual core processors *_* that would be creamtastic. Ill stick w/ the dual core tho, 2 dual core would be a pretty penny im sure, and 1500 seems like a pretty good budget..now the decision between AMD and Intel. I'd rather have a computer that i can use for my music and graphic design; and be able to compond sound or picture fx and filters on top of one another with minimal slow down. Yes i want to play some games, but my primary goal is to be able to run my audio software w/ many filters and fx smoothly...so any recomendations? i figure either way i go AMD, or Intel, 2 GB of ram and a dule core should hold me over and run any program(s) i want to smoothly, correct? Thanks again!..btw coyote, that sounds like a pretty nice rig, i may go ahead and consider a similar setup
PS a lil off topic..but are most monitors the same?

uhh, no not really, it kinda depends.
-Whats your budget?
-What's your maximum and minimum sizes you would like?
-How much gaming will you be doing?

Post your replies and ill comment back with some good suggestions

Budget 200 max (this is depending how much is left after i build the computer it self) for the monitor. Atleast 17", perferable 19", and there will be a fair amout of gaming.

well, if you have a budget of 2000 for your computeer, and only need to spend like 1400-1500 to get everything you need, why would you skimp out on the monitor? You cant get a 19inch for 200, and I see no point in 19"'s because they have the same resolution as 17"'s. I would STRONGLY reccomend the Dell 2005FPW 20.1" widesreen monitor

yes thats true i do have 2000$ but if i only use 1500, and keep my old 17" i have now..thats 500$ i can use to buy a pair of nice studio monitors (speakers) :-D

lol, just pick up a pair of logitechs x530s or something for liek 50 bucks((
great sound, low price. Theres no reason to spend 500 on speakers,

haha thats like telling a pro gamer theres no need for DUAL SLi GTX CARDS!..those speakers wouldnt be for listening to music, they would be for mixing music :)

The perfect Mobo

Hey i was faced with the exact same question that you have i wanted a dual core processor that could support dual vga but i also like the whole wi-fi and being able to hook up my digital cable to my computer and i looked around quite a bit for what company to go to either amd or intel...After about 2 weeks i finally decided to go with intel for a few reasons...yes amd is "spec" wise faster i have been told by many on this site that you wouldn't actually notice the difference as well i already bought ddr2 ram...:D the asus P5LD2 Deluxe Wi-fi edition is what i ended up getting and i definatly recommend it, it comes with LGA 775, Fsb up to 1066, DDR2 up to 667, dual core ready, Dual vga ready, 4 sata drive ready at 3.0 Gb/s, and room for external Sata, and has 945 chipset. Its obviously a great mobo but if u have any questions about it feel free to ask, i also plan on running 2 video cards but right now i have a 512 7800gtx and with x-mas around the corner i will probably wait until april(ish) to get another..
