Dual Routers

Well my Ubuntu box doesn't support my Belkin G+ MIMO USB device and I need a way to connect it, I've decided to bring a Router from the dead to use as well as my BT router but for some reason even though I followed the instructions in the BT book to set-up a third party router the ADSL light doesn't come on. Am I missing something about running 2 routers separately? The Third party router is a D-Link DSL G604T and the BT router is the Home Hub.

I'm not sure if I understand what you are trying to do, but if you want to usetwo routers, this is one way to do it.

You would have your cable or dsl modem connecting to Router One, you would have Router Two set to recieve and IP automatically, and both routers would have to be set to different wireless channels, and have different SSID's.

The Belkin Wireless reciever can only work on Windows as it requires special drivers and I need to also connect the second router to the outside world because unfortunately we don't have a long enough ethernet cable.:o

My room is somewhat of a Faraday cage when it comes to wireless signals and this is the only device out of 5 that now works in this room and there aren't ANY phone ports in this half of the house so the router is staying there. None of the standard wireless cards work in this room but they do work with Linux.

to create a redistributing wireless bridge you need to enable WDS on your routers. Some routers support this some do not. Otherwise you may have to purchase an AP, or configure your router in AP mode and run a cable.

Though I am not quite sure exactly what you are trying to accomplish, could you perhaps explain it more in full detail?
