hey all,
I've just got a new toshiba sat pro a200 t2080 laptop and using it as a desktop replacement so i'm not using the 17" lcd monitor i had. I was wondering if I would be able to do dual screening with it if i just plugged it in as if i was going to be using it instead of the laptop monitor but instad just set up to dual screen?
I haven't dual screened before so not sure if this possible or what.

Yes, it is possible to duel screen with the laptop screen as long as the video card in the laptop supports dual monitors.

If you need help setting it up let us know.

Yes, it will work. Most laptops come with vgas and you can plug the monitor in there.

Right click on your background, click properties, Advanced tab then enable the 2nd monitor by right clicking it and click "Attached"/

this is what i get when i plug in the monitor

I see my desktop displayed on the monitor also but it is too big so i'm guessing i'd have to go extend option or something

Select the middle option. Or goto display settings in the control panel and click the advanced tab. click on the second monitor and click extend my desktop to this monitor. set the resolution to match each monitor.

Play around with the display properties settings as you can drag one of the monitors around to compensate for the height difference between the monitor and the laptop. you can also adjust the resolution independently on each monitor.
