Dual VGA to DVI

Hey guys,

Just want to know if this is possible or if the cable exists.

I have a video card with a single DVI output. I was told it was dual monitor capable, but so far I havent' been able to find a splitter that goes from DVI to dual VGA (for my monitors) Does this exist? am I on a wild goose chase?

thanks

Not to sure about the DVI to dual VGA but, you can get a DVI to VGA adapter then get a VGA Splitter Cable to plug on to that.

If your after one just google it :P

Hey, thanks.

I did actually google it but the hits were confusing and useless. I've been to 5 computer stores but most of them were unaware of a straight up vga to dvi connector, let alone a dual one.

One mentioned a video box, but that was 100-150 and I wasn't really THAT set on getting a dual setup, more just convienent. I've had it and I don't want to go back to a single.

I'm quite sure a VGA splitter is just that... I don't think it allows for dual displays.

Now, I'm pretty sure I've seen a connector like you're talking about. I have a card like that but I can't remember if it's DVI or not... I know I have another card(missing the cable) with a plug shaped like DVI but it only has way too many pins...

I could just sell you my card and the cable :P It's an old ATI. This weekend I'll double check if it's DVI or something different.

It's possible that they make them, but you can only clone the screen, you wont be able to do extended desktop.

I do beleive most are like that, but I know mine's for duel monitors. I've used it that way before. Each VGA connection is numbered. But again, I'm not 100% sure it's standard DVI.
