I have currently got Linux and Windows installed. I have got GRUB so i can switch between them on booting but i was wondering is there a way to get rid of grub as i am binin linux? When i take out the drive that has linux on it the pc takes a hissy and wont boot anything apart from BIOS.

i think that is you whipe w/e partition that has linux on it, grub will be gone...
when i had ubuntu linux (i didn't like it) but when i installed it i was told to make 2 partitions but one of which was like 512MB... and then i also had the main linux partition... u have to clear both partitions to make it work.... i think... that is what i did... if i am understanding you correectly

im not sure that would work, since i had the BETA of vista on a seperate partition, and when i reformated it, it still asked me what to boot from. But theres no harm in trying.
