Duel booting question

Hey guys I have a question, I am considering duel booting Windows 7, Windows xp and Linux. What I plan on doing on the XP OS is download/browse the web. on windows 7 I plan on gaming only. and On linux I just want to learn (about the OS)

My question is: If I end up getting spyware/viruses on the XP OS, is it possible for it to effect my Windows 7 OS? (i'm not particularly conserned about linus because its not as susceptible to viruses)

My goal is to essentially keep my windows 7 OS as clean as possible so my games will run smoothly.

Viruses will not attack the other operating systems. It will be contained to the OS that you got it on.

Why not use Linux as your main web browsing OS? I have been doing that for a year now and I will probably never go back. It will take a but to get used to but if you use it as your daily OS you get more comfortable with it a lot faster.

Yeah that is actually a great idea. I suppose I could browse on linux and game on 7. thanks alot for the information

Just use a distro branded more towards beginners, like linux mint. It's got pretty much everything you need already installed, and it's easy install/remove software with the software center.

+1

Linux Mint is amazing. People ask why I like it so much even though it's based off Ubuntu, but IMO it's far more easier to use than Ubuntu is.
