Hi guys.

I have HJsplit, and I'm trying to join two segments of a clip together. They are in WMV format. For some reason, when I go into Input, it doesn't detect these files at all.

Also, I want to know how, after i join the clips together, to put it into DVD format. I have dvd copy from intervideo. Is that good enough? Thanks a bunch fellas.

Those are primarily high definition Windows Media Video files where you will more then likely have to look around for a program that supports that format. There's a good description along with references on this type seen at http://www.digitalpreservation.gov/formats/fdd/fdd000091.shtml

PCWorld has ChilliBurner available for download in their review of that program seen at http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,61856;order,1;page,1;c,All Downloads/description.html

There are also several other sharewares that support that format like Blaze Media Pro found at http://www.blazemp.com/video_dvd_burner_software.htm

Hopefully one of them will do the task there. If not run a good search on wmv dvd burninng to see several links for sharewares.

IF the files need to be join. You need to use HJSplit if that was used to split them in the first place. When you press on input, are you pointing to the First split file? Such as if there was 3, you will have to point to the first one. Then after that, click on join.

How well does HJSplit work on mpeg II files? I haven't had a good editor for some time now. But instead of tying things together since different parts of a wedding are altogether in one mpeg splitting into different parts allows for three specific menu items when they added to a project as different files.

The problem is, in HJSplit, it doesn't even detect those files for me to be able to input them. When the clips are on my desktop, and I go to "input file", and go to desktop, nothing shows up. :(

any advice on this problem?

Drag them into another folder so they are tied up with anything else. HJSplit may be seeing them as being used by another application and unavailable. The desktop is actually doing that to some degree if you see them sitting like icons there.

hjsplit do .001 - etc files. you can manually run a dos command to join them yourself.

say if your split files are hd.wmv --- blahblah then you would copy all those file to the c:\ then afterward run cmd or open a dos prompt cd\ to get to the root then:

copy /b hd* hd.wmv
