Different dvd's have different region codes.

REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)
REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 -- China
REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use
REGION 8 -- Resevered for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...
REGION 0 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played Worldwide, however, PAL discs must be played in a PAL-compatible unit and NTSC discs must be played in an NTSC-compatible unit.

I don't know anything about Europe geography but I hope this helps.

Someone told me somat about region free DVD players (i cant remember what he said exactly cos i wasnt really listening), but i'm not really sure if thats what you need.

dvd decrypter

i tried burning an iso to it using dvd decrypter and it worked but if i try to drag a file into it then it says its encountered an error

Regions only get put on when you burn something. Blank disks could care less. It's all up to the burner or player in question if they will play certain regions

So, I really doubt having blank disks from one country and using them in another country would matter.

There are ways around regions, but for that you would have to look in a different forum.

It's more likely that your burner just did not like the brand of disks. Some burners are very picky about what brand of disk you use, some disks have a blueish tint to them, and some burners will not work with them.
