DV1000 Hp Pavillion trouble

I just tried replacing the LCD inverter to fix a black screen problem I'd been having with my HP Pavillion DV1000. Upon doing so, I plugged the battery pack back in (it was out while taking the interface off and working on the inverter) without putting everything back in place. I'm not surewht's wrong now, but I tried turning it on and it began to load, and then shut off, with oly the power button's light turning off and on. I couldn't shut it off with he button, so I took out the battery, put it back in, and now it won't do a thing. It seems the only thing that lights up is the charger symbol when I plug it in to it's power supply. This is however, all that it will do. It won't turn on or anything. Please help me? I need this thing to work very bad. Thank you
 
the power on button might have become stuck, you said you took it apart, that could be what have caused it, my friend had this problem, you need to look at that
