Isn't it true that all dvd burners will also burn cd's and also just read them?

Almost Certainly Yes
It is almost certain that all DVD burners have the capability to burn CD-Rs and RWs. However, they usually have a hard time bypassing protection. They do not share the same capabilities as a proper CD-RW driver, preferable from Plextor. I hope this helps. These days all new DVD burners can burn CD-Rs and RWs as well.

I have heard that plextor is the way to go.....also, I was just wanting to know for budgeting purposes.......Figured if I didn't have the money right now I would go ahead and get the dvd burner because I could u se it for everything else than when I have more money buy a cd/rw
