I was looking at dvd burners on newegg.com and I saw on some of them, that the system requirements for it needs a p3 or higher, does this include AMD or is it strictly intel only?

Hell you can prolly burn a DVD on a P2-class setup -- provided your HDD is capable of feeding the drive with ~1MB/s sustained yer ok
