DVD Burner question?

In just built my computer and everythings fine. I just cant get my DVD burner to burn anything. When i look at the burners properties it says its value is CD ROM only. Shouldnt it say its value is a burner too? Anyone know how i can get it working?

Strange problem. If no one else has any ideas, you could try upgrading the firmware. From the link just enter Optical Drive as Category and choose your model.

ok now this is getting crazy. I downloaded the new firmware and i tried to run it. This is what the thing said.

No Matched Drives Found this firmware is only for Lite On DVD RW LH-20A1P

Detected Drives: Lite On DVD RW LH-20A1P

There is, but only with external adapters and enclosures :-/
