DVD Burner

I have recently purchased an external HP DVD burner that came with the Nero software suite. Once installed I selected the video files that I wanted to burn to DVD. After THREE hours of transcoding it causes an error that it does not support this disc type (DVD +R) and then ejects the disc. Any advice what is wrong, shouldn’t this disc type be supported???
 
Kersh, yer playin' with fire, calling out a mod.
In any case. Perhaps your burner does not support DVD+R, like 69mako suggests. Check your manual.
