DVD Burning

Ok... this might seem like a noob question to most but i just installed a DVD burner like 2 weeks ago and want to burn some movies but unsure how to do it. Do you need to convert avi files to something before trying to burn it? Which program should I use (i do have nero 6)? And how do you burn the movie files that are not avi when you dl them but like .001, .002, .003 or .r01, .r02, .r03 and such? What are the difference between the 2? I guess someone can give me the quick guide to burning dvd movies or somenthing. Thank you.

If you want to be able to watch them in a DVD player, then nero has a built in encoder that will convert your mpg, avi, ect movie files to DVD format.

for the 001 002 003 etc.. you will have to rename it to XXXXX.rar (depending on the name of your file in "XXXXXX" and rename the 001 extensions to .rar.

for the r01 r02 etc.. you should be able to unzip them with winrar and they will remerge into a video file .. same for the previous ones.. and then you will need a program like nero, or windvd maker, any dvd making program if you want to create a dvd menu type disc.

if the programs doesn't support .avi, then you will need a convertor

Should we even provide support for this? It sounds as though it's downloaded through Bittorrent or something and would be illegal.
