DVD DL Drive not reading DL Discs

Hello, I'm faced up with another problem, my DVD DL drive that was bundled with my old HP System that I put into my new computer doesn't read my DL discs.

It only reads one of my discs but all the others dont read.

My DVD Drive is a TSST H653L updated to the SH-S183L firmware by Samsung, only after updating to the latest frimware for the drive I was only able to read 1 disc but all the others wont read, and I have checked these discs in a diffrent drive and have worked.

Thanks

Perhaps the crossflash screwed things up.
Was the firmware update you used the one authorized by Samsung?
Can you get the proper firmware for that drive? If so, I'd try that and check again.
(if using the correct firmware doesn't work and you brick your drive, don't blame me!)

I already used the normal firmware for the drive and it wouldnt read DL discs but when using the samsung firmware I was able to read the DL disc, and don't worry, I wont blame anyone, DVD drives are fairly cheap nowadays and I might be able to pick up one off a friend. Also the samsung firmware was authorised by samsung.

And before I used the samsung firmware update I tried and used HP's firmware update and it just said "Your system doesn't meet specifications, installer will terminate" or something similar to that.

Any ideas?

Hm. If both firmwares were authorized by Samsung and neither work properly, it would definitely appear that something's borked pretty badly.
