DVD drive is not working, need to reformat PC

Hi,

I am just wondering if there is a way to reformat a pc when the DVD drive is not working. Is it possible to reformat using an external dvd drive? Pardon my ignorance, I don't really know.

Providing the system supports booting to usb yes. However new dvd rom drives are cheap these days and easy to install.

Look in the bios and see if you have an option to boot to usb devices.
