DVD-R Whats is it........

I have a DVD-R disk that says 8x 4.7GB 2hours Can i burn music on it? Seems like it would hold alot of music lol. I thought it was a regular cd-r but when i put it in my cdrom just keeps blinking and the burner program just says insert bland recordable cd. My computer is kinda new, but for some reason it doesn't want to play regular DVDs either......

a DVD-R wont work in your cd burner, you need to buy a dvd burner. and it can hold apprx 900+ songs on good quality, but they can only play in dvd players, you cant use them in your portable cd player.
