dvd-rom iso

i think this is the correct folder to post in.

I downloaded the .iso dvd file for red hat fedora (linux installation file) from ftp://ftp.muug.mb.ca/pub/fedora/linux/core/5/i386//iso/ and when i come to burn it to a dvd in nero (version 6, ultra edition), i select DVD-ROM (iso) and burn it to that, but when i try to use the cd, nothing happens.

What am i doing wrong???

Are you trying to boot from the CD or run it in Windows?

i'll be honest, i only checked the dvd in windows and it shows the single .iso file i "wrote" to it but i havent tried to boot up with it. but right now, im in the middle of creating a dvd in nero express so i dont want to remove the blank dvd and start over again so if you think thats the problem, then i'll see what booting from it does and be back with a reply in about 1hour, 5 minutes and 47 seconds!!!

I see your problem, your trying to copy the ISO to the DVD as a data disc, which will only burn the ISO to the disc.

What you want to do is click "Burn Image to Disc", this will extract the files from the ISO and put it on a CD.

yeah, my mate said that (i bother him a lot for help) and i didnt want to ask him where that option was, so i came on here!

think i found it. i go to create a dvd iso disc, then click on "recorder" and "burn image" then it asks me to open a file and i choose the dvd iso file i want and it goes to the nero part where i click burn and it goes to the "write to dvd" section.

Yea, you got it. I used to make that mistake too.
