dvd rom issues

how come would my Asus Quietrack dvd rom drive only be able to read stuff...i thought dvd rom also had the capibilities to burn music and stuff to Cds...the reason is i CAN copy my cds to itunes but when i try to burn a music CD it says cannot find Cd or DVD burner

It's a dvd-ROM. Read Only Memory. It can only read, not burn. You'll have to buy a DVD-R, DVD-RW in order to burn what you want onto DVDs, and in some cases, CDs.

i got another question...since it has been working for ripping music, i just found a installation CD for the drive and i have even installed it...thats what it says...now ive had this stuff for almost a month and i dont have the registration key...is there any way i could get it

The installation CD more than likely includes the different OEM programs that come with the drive. Most included software packages are simply in a white sleeve with a little slip of paper that the registration key is typed on.

So you may want to check were you pulled the CD out to see if it fell on the floor, but that's all I can tell you with the information provided.
