Dvd start?

I recently had some old 8mm film copied to a DVD and the only way it will start, is to fast forward, and then rewind. I have burned a copy and it does the same thing. Is there anyway I can fix this?

you should try a known working dvd to see if the problem is the drive or the dvd itself. also, i would make sure that autoplay is enabled.

It's the disk. I've tried it on other players and it does the same thing. I think there must be some type of imbedment that q's the player to start reading the disk? I was also thinking I'd try to start to burn another dvd and then switch to the one I want to copy?
