Hey!
Im new to the DVI style monitors. I am attempting to hook up my brother's samsung LCD monitor, which does not include a cable to my GeForce 7800 GTX. The cable I purchased looks like this, it is DVI-I

This fits perfectly into my graphics card but not into my brother's monitor

And unfortunately my brother's monitor is asking for

DVD-D

My question is, can I manually remove the four pins surrounding the flat pin on the right of the cable without suffering damage or quality loss? Thanks allot.

samsung LCD montior ? mind telling me the model ? but if u get a monitor the will provide a cable ... and if u get a DVI graphic card they will provide a conveter ... so.. it should work fine ...

Hey!
The model is 912t but the converter is not the iddue. I do not want to convert, i wish to run it in Digital mode, which I believe you cannot do through being converted to VGA. The monitor came with just the plain VGA cable. My real question is if I can manually remove the 4 pins to make the cable DVI-D instead of DVI-A as to fit it inside the monitor's plug.
