DVI issue...Still

Ok i want to do Dual Monitors on my setup but im at a stand still because I cant get my monitor to go into DVI mode. I currently have both the DVI and VGA cables plugged in. The Monitor has a DVI-D and the video card (Geforce 7300GT) has DVI out, dont know if that makes a difference or not. When I go to the monitor and try to put it into digital signal, the screen flashes then it goes right back to VGA. If I unplug the VGA it goes blank. Do I need to change something on the video card or what?
 
Wait, so you have both the VGA and DVI cables plugged in at the same time? Remove the VGA cable all together and just use the DVI, see if that works.
 
I tried that but it causes the screen to just go blank. It wont let me access the on-screen menu either. The only way I can get it to work is with the VGA cable, but I need to clear up that output on my video card for my other monitor.
