Hi,

I have a problem. I have brought a HDTV with HDMI but it also has scarts/composite and VGA. I have tried pluggin my computer in via the VGA slot but the quality is rubish when you are reading any text etc.

If i was to buy a DVI to HDMI lead will this make the computer quality better?

Many thanks
Joe

Yes, the quality would have been very rubbish, a VGA ouput to a TV would be at best 640x480. Using a DVI to HDMI cable would increase the resolution, but to exactly waht, im unsure, it would hepl, but im not sure just how much... it is definately the most preferred way of connecting a PC to TV... Also note that DVI wont carry sound, so even though your going into HDMI you wont get sound through it, you'll need a seperate 3.5mm jack to 2 phono lead for that

Hey thanks for the replies.

So are you not sure if it wil help the text issues im having. Apparently my HDTV is full 1080 so im not sure if that helps!

Thanks again

No... VGA can handle much higher resolutions. Even monitors with a resolution of 1600x1200 or higher use VGA without any problems. The issue he's probably having with fuzzy text is that the resolution isnt set to the native/max resolution for his TV.

I'm using a VGA cable for my 32" LCD @ 720P and there are no issues at all.
