Dvorak or Standard

I've been interested int the Dvorak layout many times. I probably would have switched by now but i use many public computers so I assumed it would be difficult to switch back and forth.
Anyone have experience switching back and forth? Is it as difficult as it sounds.


I know its a minority but i was curious how many people use dvorak on their main computer.

Post if you do and if so, how long you've been using it.

Qwerty was made to slow down DVORAK typing, no kidding... I can't grasp it...

What exactly is dvorak typing?
I guess i use standard then.

The keys are in different places.
More logical places supposedly.
Your fingers dont have to travel as far to hit keys so you can type longer and faster.

IMO, kinda lame but extremely interesting...

Heres how the keys are actually arranged. Notice they put more commonly used letters towards the center.

Yeah but it seems like itd be awesome once you got used to it.
I would go for it except id just get destroyed speedwise whenever i had to use QWERTY keyboard

Somehow I doubt it would be worth it... I'm thinking you could jack up your qwerty typing alot rather than learn a new layout. And then there's the whole compatibility issue, and qwerty being mainstream.
