DX10 for XP

I heard some rumors a while back that some company made an experimental directx10 software that worked with XP. Has anyone tried this?

I think there was like The Alky Project, but rumor is that it's EXTREMELY unstable and riddled with viruses. My suggestion: don't download it.

The "DX10" for windows xp is just extended DX9 code, and it is hard to tell the difference between that and DX10.

Why are we talking DX10? DX11 is out now.

Why you would stick with XP is a wonder to me now though?

When I had the decision to choose between XP and Vista, (June 2009) I went with XP because it was compatible with all software, was easier to use, and didn't hide "compatibility files" (I need to access those easily). However once I realized that XP only supported DX9 a few months ago, I regretted choosing it. Next time I come up with 100 bucks, I'll buy Windows 7.

Good descision I think then, DX10 was nothing that special. COD MW2 which is DX9c looks as good. I have played Assasins Creed and World at War. Cant see and diff between DX9 and 10 really.

DX 11 may be better I am hoping ;)

The only difference I see between dx9 and dx10 would be faces; the mouths of characters move more dynamically in dx10, and that may not be true itself. That's pretty much it.

Grand Theft Auto 4 (DX9). It has motion blur, but cannot do anti aliasing combied with motion blur. DX10 can. crysis, for example.

I think there is a difference between what is technically possible with DX10 and what game developers implement.
